Weather and Evacuation

All play is to be suspended immediately if lightning can be seen or thunder can be heard. This is true for games or practices.

REMEMBER: If thunder can be heard, you are already within range of a lightning strike.

If play is suspended, players, coaches and parents should move immediate to the interior of a car. No one should take shelter under the concession canopy during a thunder and lightning storm as its not safe from a lightning strike.

Umpires and/or coaches can suspend a game due to weather. If an umpire OR a coach feels there is a risk, either can suspend play.

Wait until 15 minutes AFTER the last lightning strike to occur to resume any game or practice.

It’s encouraged that you install a weather tracking app on your phone that will alert you of severe weather while on practice fields- ie: The Weather Channel  App or WeatherBug App or etc.
