Eau Claire Babe Ruth Baseball was founded in 1956 by Myron (Bud) Close, Ernest Christianson, Robert Donais, John Vold, and Andy Carlson. Under the leadership of Myron Close, numerous meetings were held throughout the winter of 1956 to discuss the development of a Babe Ruth program in Eau Claire for ages 13-15 that would serve as a bridge between the Little League and American Legion baseball programs in town…
In 2016, Eau Claire Babe Ruth Baseball celebrated 60 years of providing baseball opportunities for the youth of Eau Claire and the Chippewa Valley.
To celebrate, ECBR is compiling a complete history of the program from its beginnings as a 5-team league playing at Kaiser Field back in 1956, to the present day.
